Dr Maddi Campbell

Clinical Psychologist, and Neuropsychological Registrar

Background

Maddi is a clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychology registrar. Her dual qualifications allow her to provide comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological assessments, as well as tailored therapeutic interventions to adolescents and adults.  Maddi has experience working with a range of psychological issues and neurological conditions in both the public and private sectors. She is currently employed as a neuropsychology registrar at the Prince Charles Hospital working with the Older Persons Mental Health Team.

Maddi has experience and interest in conducting neuropsychological assessments that help clients understand their cognitive strengths and weaknesses following acquired brain injury.  She has particular interest in providing ongoing psychological support and cognitive interventions to improve and maintain brain health and function following brain injury, tailored to a person’s goals and strengths.

Alongside neuropsychological assessment, Maddi is interested in supporting young people and adults manage mood difficulties and anxiety, and in developing skills to improve mental health and wellbeing more broadly. Maddi’s therapy style and approach to assessment is warm and collaborative, and she is passionate about empowering clients with skills and strategies to optimise their daily functioning and get the very best out of their lives.  She believes in the importance of creating a supportive, safe, and non-judgemental space in assisting clients to achieve their goals.

Her psychological practice is informed by her research into the use of mindfulness-based interventions to support the mental health and quality of life of people living with neurological conditions, particularly multiple sclerosis. She is also interested in exploring what role psychologists can play both in working towards a solution to the climate crisis and in supporting the building of resilience and hope in people who may be struggling with overwhelm and anxiety related to this.
