Dr Hardwick specialises in the provision of evidence-based, psychological counselling services. Dr Hardwick offers sensitive and responsive support to help her clients work through current issues to improve their overall well-being and quality of life.
Her approach aims to be collaborative, non-judgemental, confidential, caring, and underpinned by an understanding of the client’s true values and goals. While accessing therapy can be an uncertain process, Dr Hardwick can answer all your questions to ensure you receive the right type of therapy for your needs.
Dr Hardwick Background
Dr Hardwick completed her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, where she specialised in the fields of Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology. She has held registration since 2000. She has worked in both the public and private sectors, with a focus on private practice work since 2007.
Clinically, Dr Hardwick has worked with adults experiencing a variety of psychological problems including depression and anxiety conditions. She has also worked with children and families. She has a PhD in Clinical Psychology training in a number of therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Within the neuropsychological domain, she has experience providing assessment and intervention services for both adults and children within the fields of acquired brain injury, neurological disorders and learning difficulties. Dr Hardwick has experience within the Medico-Legal domain, having written numerous reports for the courts both nationally and internationally. She has extensive experience as an Expert Witness, and has given testimony in the Magistrate Courts, County Courts and the High Court in London, UK.
She has particular expertise in the area of Child Protection Assessments, including assessing the impact of mental health, personality, and cognitive deficits on parenting and attachment. Another key area of interest is in identifying and managing psychological and neuropsychological barriers to returning to work. Dr Hardwick has also published in peer-reviewed journals.
