Therapeutic Approach

Chantal believes that clients should feel safe and comfortable to express their thoughts and feelings during therapy, which aids in achieving client goals and a successful treatment outcome. She believes in using evidence-based techniques, while also being aware of adapting treatment plans to the individual where necessary. She uses a friendly, warm and respectful approach while also being direct and open in her communication.
 
Chantal can work with English and Dutch speaking clients.

Background

Chantal completed her Master of Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Amsterdam in 2009.  She then went on to complete her PhD in 2013 at the University of Amsterdam on the subject of post-operative delirium. She has presented at various international conferences and is published in international journals. She is an AHPRA endorsed Clinical Neuropsychologist. 

Chantal has experience working as a psychologist and a research coordinator in both hospital and non-hospital settings. She has worked in a diverse range of settings from academic teaching hospitals to aged care settings, where she gained experience with both (neuro)psychological assessments as well as providing guidance to clients, family or health care staff staff.
 
Chantal offers neuropsychological assessments focusing on neurodegenerative disorders (all types of dementia, Parkinson Disease, etc) and acute brain injury (for example acquired brain injury, stroke, brain tumours or exposure to toxins). Besides neuropsychological services Chantal offers services like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and neurofeedback (Neuroptimal qualified neurofeedback trainer). She works with clients 18 years and older.

• Master of Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Amsterdam
• Doctor of Psychology, University of Amsterdam

Registrations:

• General registration as a Clinical Psychologist and Endorsement as a Clinical Neuropsychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA/AHPRA)
• Approved Medicare Provider
